Marking the fifth anniversary of Bernard Haitink’s passing, Decca is proud to present the third and final limited-edition box in a series that began with the landmark Concertgebouw Orchestra edition and continued with the London recordings. The focus of this edition is Bernard Haitink’s recordings with three of the world’s leading orchestras: the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Wiener Philharmoniker. Also included are recordings of Mahler and Poulenc with the European Community Youth Orchestra, Fidelio from Dresden (with Jessye Norman), and from the early stereo years, a partnership with David Oistrakh coupling Mozart with Stravinsky. Most intriguing perhaps, is music by Turnage recorded with the Chicago Symphony.  A 31-CD edition with original jackets and a booklet with insightful notes by Andrew Stewart.
